Return to Workplace
COVID-19 pandemic has upended our lives and work as we know it. Countries have been in lockdown, and our workspaces have moved from company premises to home offices, bedrooms, kitchen tables and even garages. Employers, by necessity, have been forced to adapt and change their office rule books. Work life as we have known it is unlikely to return soon. But now that governments are gradually reopening their countries, people are regaining the ability to go back to the office. Enterprises are grappling with the questions: how do we prepare our physical offices to be healthier, safer and more nurturing to our workforce? Do we adopt a blended work model?
With the Infosys Return to Workplace initiative, we are moving towards a hybrid model of working – Virtual@Home and Physical@Offices. Enterprises need to address concerns of physical safety in the office, allowing the workforce to feel comfortable, effective in the physical space while augmenting connectivity, communication and security issues for those working virtually.
The Infosys Return to Workplace initiative allows enterprises to develop a comprehensive plan to sequence and align a sound strategy for their return to the office. We provide a comprehensive framework and execution-oriented solutions to enable enterprises to make their workspaces safe and resilient for employees. We are doing so by reassessing office spaces, applying learnings from health experts, and weaving in next-gen technologies to enable preventive measures, protective solutions and robust communication channels, while adhering to data privacy standards and practices.
Approach
At the core of any enterprise are its people. Human capital drives any company’s s bottom line. Employees may worry about safety and their ability to perform at the workplace. To enable a safe, healthy, and nurturing workplace, we have developed a framework: IPPPT – Isolate, Prepare, Prevent, Protect, Thrive.
Isolate
Prepare
Prevent
Protect
Thrive
In Isolate, employees have the option to abstain from the physical workplace. This way, communicable diseases, including COVID-19, cannot be spread. However, if it is required to be present at the workplace, we need to put several measures in place. Prepare defines the enterprise’s strategy and guidelines for legal and health compliance, when deciding on how to allow employees to the workplace. Prevent and Protect specifically refer to the measures taken to safeguard employees while in the workplace, from checking elevated body temperature, observing compliance with suggested health guidelines, as well as actively monitoring occupancy and congestion in workplaces. Lastly, Thrive focuses on health and wellness beyond the immediate, COVID-19 related health needs.
