Infosys helped the overhead conductor manufacturer who needed an innovative way to apply specialized coating to installed overhead power conductors that would extend their life and remove the need for expensive replacement.

Advanced Robotic Systems: using AI to renew the electric grid

Leveraged AI and Automation experience to design and develop two robots that would travel along the overhead conductor, cleaning and then coating it

Controlled remotely via cellular/RF, the robots featured advanced vision and control systems to perform the process, ultimately extending the life of the cable

In-built IoT gateway to communicate with the ground stations for continuous monitoring of the battery, speed of robots, coating level in storage tank, flow volume of coating and other critical parameters remotely.
