TALK TO EXPERTSA multi-tenant service that manages remote connections
What did we do?
For the client’s requirements, the Windows Virtual Desktop on Azure, part of Infosys Cobalt, was identified as the best possible solution. Windows Virtual Desktop is a multi-tenant service hosted by Microsoft that manages the connections between remote desktop clients and isolated Windows Virtual Desktop sessions.
The execution approach had multiple sprints covering applications of different complexities. Each sprint consisted of tasks with a defined goal and a plan of action with a cross-skilled team to aid in completing these tasks. Further, retrospection during each sprint helped in continuous learning and improvement.
The team took a two-pronged implementation approach -
Resource utilization, cost savings and enhanced scalability
Optimal utilization of compute infrastructure with Windows 10 multi-session enabling around 600 users to connect to 20 Azure Windows Virtual Desktop virtual machines.
60% increase in cost savings - No additional licensing costs, reduced infrastructure costs and management overheads
Enhanced scalability – The Windows Virtual Desktop platform, with its flexibility in up-scaling and down-scaling can cater to fluctuating demands for compute requirements.
