Kerala Flood Relief Operations
Kerala witnessed one of its worst natural calamities in August 2018 with unprecedented rainfall leading to a severe flood that crippled the state and caused much damage to life and property. Sanjeevani Charitable Trust in association with the leadership from the Thiruvanathapuram Infosys Development Center and the Infosys Foundation initiated massive relief operations across the state. Highlights of the program include:
- More than 45 tons of relief material distributed across the state
- 25-plus camps provided support through the entire flood period
- Sanjeevani volunteers ensured direct distribution of relief material to affected communities staying in relief camps
- Regular partnership with government agencies and Kerala police
- Distributed 1,000-plus relief kits to those returning to their homes post floods
- Setting up of RO plants, distribution of medicines and notebook/infrastructure donations for school students
