Empowering Women's Health
Indore DC organizes an event to tackle women's health concerns, bringing vital information and resources to underprivileged working women.
Indore DC organized an event for over seventy underprivileged working women to address crucial aspects of women's health. This initiative was supported by Kokilaben Ambani Hospital and Vijay Welfare Society, it provided valuable information and resources to those who lack access to such vital knowledge.
The event kicked off with an enlightening session on menstrual health, attended by around 100 women. Leading the discussion was Dr. Sunita Chouhan, a gynecologist who shed light on the intricacies of a normal menstrual cycle and the factors that can cause irregularities. She emphasized the importance of recognizing warning signs and seeking medical help when necessary. She also provided insights into simple lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise, that can contribute to maintaining a healthy menstrual cycle.
Following this, Dr. Arpana Shukla took the stage to address the critical issues of breast and cervical cancer. She highlighted the risk factors associated with these cancers and stressed the importance of prevention over cure and strongly recommended regular screenings as a vital measure for early detection, potentially saving lives through timely intervention.
Promoting alternative menstrual hygiene practices was another key focus of the event. The discussion highlighted the use of menstrual cups as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option. With the ability to be reused for up to five years, menstrual cups offer a sustainable solution for menstrual hygiene management. To further support the attendees, the team distributed pads, snacks, and fruit juices, ensuring that everyone left with both knowledge and essential supplies.
The event served as a powerful testament to the power of community and the importance of addressing women's health issues. By providing education, resources, and support, the organizers made a significant difference in the lives of these women. They empowered them with the knowledge and tools necessary to prioritize their health and well-being, leading to healthier lives overall. This impactful event wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated efforts of Indore CSR team members and volunteers. A special thank you goes out to Neeraj, Anjali, Shraddha, Srishti, Aakrati, Radha, Shruti, Ashish, Udit, Arpit, and Vishal from Indore CSR Team of Infosys.
