Seattle STEAM Days
Seattle-based CSR Champions Priya Jain and Vindhya Nair curated a series of STEAM celebrations at their local elementary school and library
The summer kicked off with a vibrant STEAM event at Keller Elementary School. Seattle-based CSR Champions Priya Jain and Vindhya Nair curated a series of STEAM celebrations. The students were treated to a series of interactive DIY activities designed to spark their curiosity and imagination. One of the highlights was the "Puff Rocket" challenge, where students constructed miniature rockets. Later in the summer, they hosted a STEAM Day at the Maple Valley Public Library where over 350 attendees created and raced a hovercraft using supplies found around the home. STEAM celebrations were a resounding success, thanks to their passion for education and their ability to make learning fun and engaging. The events not only introduced young minds to the principles of STEM but also fostered a sense of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Gokul Krishnan, a Seattle Infoscion and volunteer, captured the essence of the events perfectly: "The best part of today was seeing the sparkle in kids' eyes (sometimes adults too) when the hover works! Such a simple product & results are amazing to witness!" His words echoed the sentiments of many who attended the events, highlighting the transformative power of STEAM education.
