Being Light Footed on Carbon Emissions
The main greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our support activities include CO2, SOx, NOx and other ozone-depleting substances. Emission levels from diesel generators and diesel-operated fire fighting pumps are monitored on a monthly basis.
GHG emissions
In line with the GHG Protocol, we categorize and report our GHG emissions as Direct and Indirect based on the following criteria:
- Direct GHG emissions are emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the reporting entity.
- Indirect GHG emissions are emissions that are a consequence of the activities of the reporting entity, but occur at sources owned or controlled by another entity.
- The GHG Protocol further categorizes direct and indirect emissions into three broad scopes – Scope 1, Scope 2 & Scope 3.
