Infosys is the best company to work for in India 2006: BT-Mercer-TNS study
Bounces back to top spot for the third time in five yearsInfosys regained the No. 1 position as the best employer in India, according to the study on 'The Best Companies to Work for in India 2005' based on research by three partners: Business Today, a leading Indian business publication; Mercer Human Resource Consulting, an international HR consulting firm; and the Indian arm of international market research major TNS.
After finishing second in 2004, Infosys strode back to the top of the list in 2005, ahead of Sasken, Genpact, HSBC, Sapient, etc. Previously, Infosys was ranked No. 1 in 2001 and 2002.
According to Business Today (November 20, 2005): "The winners in this year's study value their employees and have striven to create a culture that provides a special employee experience."
In an interview with Business Today, Infosys CEO Nandan M. Nilekani was quoted as saying, "We have to drive the benefit of both scale and the spirit of "smallness" that we try and foster within Infosys. We have broken up the company into several smaller units and I try and meet as many people as I can personally. There is a defined career path for each Infoscion and senior managers will mentor them on reaching their targets."
