Pride Month is a time of celebration, inflection and reflection for the LGBTQ+ community, its allies and the movement for social justice and equality. Last year, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which kicked off the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement and celebration of Pride. This year, the world is facing social struggles including a global pandemic and a protest movement to demand racial justice in the face of police brutality involving people of color. During the pandemic, we may not be able to celebrate Pride Month as usual with celebrations, parades floats and marches, but the heart of Pride is alive and well as we find safe ways to celebrate amongst the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.
