Navigating the new world disorder

For the year ahead, uncertainty is the only certainty. Armed conflict and shifting alliances will continue to reshape the world’s geopolitical order. With 2024 predicted to be the hottest year on record, extreme weather events will challenge businesses and governments and draw attention to just how far we are from emissions targets. Advanced technologies offer a glimmer of hope and competitive advantage, but also carry significant–some say existential–risk. And democracy will be in the spotlight as countries with more than half the world’s population hold elections in 2024.

Against this backdrop, how can leaders strike the “right” balance between caution and opportunism? Businesses are under pressure to transform their businesses to decarbonise and reap the benefits of AI.
