Learnings from Siemens Gamesa’s Global Digital Transformation Journey

With the larger objective of making clean energy more affordable and reliable, in April 2017, Siemens AG’s wind power business merged with Gamesa; the new company was called Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE).

As with most mergers, two diverse sets of business processes and IT landscapes increased the complexity of doing business multifold. To support the company’s expanding business and future development, the company had to leverage the cloud and re-architect several areas including SAP S/4HANA on cloud, testing, service desk, digital workplace services and more.
