The 15th Edition of the Infosys Foundation India International Challenge 2023 Badminton Tournament to be held in Bengaluru

Over 450 ace shuttlers from 13 countries will compete for a prize purse of US$ 25,000

Bengaluru, India – October 23, 2023

Badminton champions from across the world, including Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam will compete at the Infosys Foundation International Challenge 2023 badminton tournament. Supported by Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys (NSE, BSE, NYSE: INFY), and held under the auspices of the Karnataka Badminton Association (KBA) the tournament will be held from October 24th - 29th, 2023.

The 15th edition of this prestigious world badminton tournament, which will see the participation of over 450 ace shuttlers from 13 countries, carries a prize purse of US$ 25,000.

The event is organized by the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) at the world-class, state-of-the-art multi-sports campus, Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru under the aegis of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC) and the Badminton Association of India (BAI).

The qualifying rounds of the tournament will be held on October 24th & 25th, 2023 followed by the Main Draw rounds from October 26th to 29th, 2023. The finals are scheduled to be held on October 29th, 2023. The tournament will see shuttlers compete in all 5 formats of the game, including Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Vickneswaran Nakar Salapan from Malaysia has been nominated by the BWF/BAC as the referee for the 2023 edition.

Sai Praneet of India and Duc Phat Le of Vietnam (in the Men’s Singles), and Ashmita Chalia and Tanya Hemanth of India (in the Women’s Singles), are the top 2 seeds in their respective categories.
