Infosys Wins 2024 UN Women’s WEP India Award in the Gender-inclusive Workplace Category
Infosys has been recognized as the winner of the 2024 UN Women’s “Women’s Empowerment Principles” (WEPs) India Award in the Gender-inclusive Workplace category. The recognition spotlights Infosys’ efforts to foster a gender-equal workplace and create an inclusive environment that empowers women at all levels of the organization.
The UN WEPs India Awards celebrate corporate initiatives that champion gender equality and women’s empowerment. The Gender-inclusive Workplace category assesses organizations on their commitment to establishing a gender-equal workplace, addressing biases, implementing frameworks to measure and govern gender equality, and supporting maternity and work-life balance. Other key parameters include promoting responsible marketing practices, addressing gender stereotypes, and creating a harassment-free and safe workplace for all employees.
Infosys is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and has received global recognition for its efforts to advance women in the workplace. A standout initiative, the #IAmTheFuture program, focuses on empowering women leaders by enhancing their leadership skills. To date, it has enabled 500 women leaders to complete their development journeys and prepare for future leadership roles. Another program, Restart with Infosys, supports professionals returning to work after a career break by offering a robust learning platform, mentorship, and the confidence needed to transition back into their roles effectively. Supporting working mothers is a key aspect of Infosys’ inclusivity efforts. The IMother app available on the InfyMe platform ensures that women are supported during maternity leave and experience smooth transitions back to their careers.
To address unconscious gender bias in workplaces, Infosys launched the global #SpotItToStopIt campaign. This initiative raises awareness around gender-based microaggressions which can undermine women’s confidence and career progression. Infosys further reinforces its commitment to diversity and inclusion through extensive learning resources, covering topics such as unconscious bias, disability inclusion, transgender inclusion, and by nurturing a multigenerational workforce.
