Infosys Foundation and Unnati Foundation Help Skill over One Lakh Learners for Jobs
Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, in collaboration with SGBS Unnati Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with an aim to equip underprivileged youths and provide employment, has successfully skilled over one lakh youth across India, helping them become industry-ready for employment. As a part of this initiative, Infosys Foundation had committed to a sum of INR 20 crore, in 2022, towards training and placing unemployed literate youth through the ‘Infosys Foundation-UNXT Youth Training and Employment Program’ for a span of few years.
The training has been undertaken in a two-pronged manner – an in-person, instructor-led model, and a self-learning online model. The course module is focused on teaching market-oriented skills like web and mobile applications, office administration, to graduates from underprivileged and economically weaker sections. Learners were trained for workplace readiness, leadership skills, and life skills through workshops, helping improve their employability. In addition, this collaboration has successfully been serving as a marketplace for job vacancies.
