Infosys Foundation and L V Prasad Eye Institute Launch the Urban Slum Eye Screening Program

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, along with L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Prevention of Blindness launched the Urban Slum Eye Screening Program. Through this program, Infosys Foundation will provide funds for the equipment required for the program serving the urban poor, economically underprivileged and home bound old age people. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, launched the program at the L V Prasad Eye Institute’s Mithu Tulsi Chanrai Campus, Bhubaneswar.

LVPEI, with support from Infosys Foundation will be able to provide excellent and equitable eye care services and help the prevention of avoidable blindness through the Urban Slum Eye Screening Program. Around 40,000 people from the urban slums in Bhubaneshwar will benefit from this program in a span of one year with a special focus on women, children, elderly, and people with disabilities. This program is an important initiative towards making quality eye care services affordable for all.

This initiative further adds to Infosys Foundation’s efforts to provide better healthcare infrastructure for the benefit of the society.
