Infosys Successfully Concludes #HackWithInfy India 2018
Pune - August 21, 2018: Infosys successfully concluded the grand finale of #HackWithInfy, the India edition of its hackathon in Pune on Monday, August 20. #HackWithInfy, a programming competition was open to pre-final year (2019 batch) students across disciplines of BE/B. Tech/ME/M. Tech, MCA and M.Sc. from select colleges and universities.
As part of this competition, 18 teams participated in a 24-hour hackathon over August 18 - 20, 2018, at the Infosys Pune Development Center. The objective of the hackathon was to provide students a platform to learn and experience the culture of quick problem-solving and innovative thinking.
The hackathon received over 50,000 entries from across the country. The competition was divided into three rounds, the first two rounds were single-participant online challenges which required the participants to solve three problems with varying levels of complexities within three hours. 93 selected students went on to participate in the grand finale. These students were divided into 18 teams and a mentor was allocated to each team, to guide them in making design and implementation choices for their project.
The grand finale was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Pravin V. Kulkarni, DC Head – Pune and Vice President and Delivery Head – SAP Practice, Manufacturing at Infosys. He addressed the audience and distributed the prizes to the winning team. The winners of the #HackWithInfy contest were declared by Binod HR, Executive Vice President and the Global Head of Talent and Technology Operations and Quality at Infosys, who also addressed the students and elaborated on the plans for #HackWithInfy.
The teams that qualified for the grand finale were judged by a panel of senior executives from Infosys. The members of the winning team were -

The winning team of the hackathon received prize money of INR 2,00,000, the first runner up team won INR 1,00,000 and the second runner up team received INR 50,000. The programming competition also provided 1,009 top scorers a pre-placement interview (PPI) opportunity at Infosys.
