I had the pleasure to intern with Infosys this past summer at their headquarters in Bangalore, India. Through the InStep program, I had a phenomenal experience working as a Software Testing Intern for the Center for Emerging Technology Solutions department (iCETS).
As a software testing intern, I was responsible for building a mobile application testing platform using Analytics. This project had a critical impact in my department due to its use of analytics technologies and the department’s focus on delivering innovative solutions to complex problems. Thanks to my mentor and his team, I was able to successfully complete this project and hand it to the customer in a timely fashioned manner. This project made me feel an integral part of the unit and uplifted my confidence in delivering high-quality products to customers.
As I took off on my second project, building a Trend Tree on “The Latest Trends in Software testing” I realized that Infosys did not only need me to contribute but to learn from the most welcoming, bright, and talented workers across campus. I began meeting with business analysts who helped me understand the flow of various use cases in global markets; software testing engineers who helped me understand the key trends in software testing and many others. I’m very confident that the skills I gained while working on this project will help me in my future pursuits.
Last but not least, as much as I have had the chance to grow professionally, and learn lessons that would last a lifetime, I cannot end this story without mentioning the amazing work that the InStep team does for the interns. From the pre-departure procedures, VISA, travel, and all accommodation necessities, this team went above and beyond to make sure that all interns have a positive experience during their time in India. In fact, I explored India like no other place in the world. Overall, I had a great time interning with Infosys and would recommend it to anyone willing to grow both, personally and professionally.
