Enterprise Architecture Office Transformation for one of the largest Life Insurers in the world
The client
The client is the largest mutual life insurance company in the US, providing insurance, investment, and retirement solutions along with expert guidance to help customers achieve lifelong financial well-being.
Challenges
The client’s strategic architecture group is responsible for crafting the On IT Strategy & Roadmap undertaking high-value architecture work, including but not limited to defining the Enterprise Architecture Operating Model, Enterprise Portfolio & Strategic Knowledge Management and End to end Enterprise Architecture Strategy and Governance to support the new IT Operating Model & Roadmap.
With multiple architecture frameworks and methodologies to choose from the industry (TOGAF, Gartner, Zachman, CEB etc.), the Chief Architect was looking to establish an Enterprise Architecture Transformation Office to help define their One IT Strategy & Roadmap, which was lacking a structured, non-intrusive, Enterprise Architecture Management and Governance approach.
Our solution
Infosys leveraged our SMART EA framework to develop an architecture review board and governance model. Our pragmatic approach leveraged insights based on rich experience and collective knowledge base.
Infosys established an “Enterprise Architecture Think Tank" in India. The Think Tank was predominantly composed of experienced Infosys Enterprise Architects to work closely with the Chief Architect’s office in the US.
This was a unified team of Client and Infosys staff operating across two continents defining architecture strategy and governance across the Enterprise, LOBs and Shared Services collaboratively to understand needs, stakeholder maps and relationship management.
A combination of Enterprise Architects, Portfolio Architects, Domain Architects, Data Architects and Infrastructure Architects formed a solid grounds for the Enterprise Architecture Think Tank focusing on the following strategic initiatives:
