The client is one of the leading insurance brokers in US that specializes in developing, marketing & administering customized insurance programs and specialty market solutions.

Challenges

This core business critical platform for policy management was evolved over many years with tactical fixes and less historical decision documentation. It is now evolving as global product and is expected to handle large volume and high complexity products. The CIO/ CTO office decided to analyze the core PMS platform to address the top architectural issues, with future growth and scalability in mind. Infosys provided recommendations with a roadmap to improve the performance and scalability of the platform.

Our solution

Infosys partnered with the client adapting our SMART EA Framework to a comprehensive assessment across quality of service, technology capability, development processes, stakeholder expectations and APH based analysis models. Our pragmatic and collaborative approach included:

  • Customized Infosys ‘Strategic Application Review’ methodology & approach to cover assessment dimensions as per client context in 3 phases
  • Balanced top-down and bottom-up approach by conducting workshops & interviews with business analysts, support teams & chief architect to identify key problem areas of the application
  • Leveraged profiling tools Dynatrace, PerfMon, SQL Profiler & CAST and baselined performance in assessment environment
  • Developed use case level analysis reports & improvement opportunities socialized with all stakeholders (CIO, IT director head, Chief Architect, Business & IT SMEs)
