Vice President, Global Servicing Group - Manufacturing & Automation, American Express

As a Vice President of Manufacturing & Automation (MA&), Tom’s organization reports to John Standring and is comprised of Global Card Issuance, Global Billing Network, Global Payment Operations, Global Bureau Operations, Testing/Remediation, and Automation COE.

Within these teams he leads the businesses responsible for the production and fulfilment of printed documents, manufacturing and personalization of all card issuance, end to end remittance processing of payments for consumer and commercial customers, execute credit bureau operational governance, end to end user acceptance testing, remediation validation, and robotics process automation. With Tom’s experience and expertise, he has been a key factor in driving efficiencies and savings across these businesses over the past three years.

Tom started his American Express career in 1997 in the Performance Engineering Organization. He has a deep experience working in different countries, businesses and roles as diverse as Risk and Information Management supporting our Commercial products (both Corporate and OPEN), leading the Engineering, Capabilities, and Subpoena Response teams in the former GCA organization. These roles have allowed Tom to reside in Phoenix, Sydney, Australia, New York, and back to Phoenix again.

Over his career, Tom has gained a reputation as a high-impact and pragmatic leader who has successfully held roles of increasing complexity and delivered outstanding results while creating strong relationships with many teams.

Tom has his Bachelors in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and MBA from Arizona State. His wife (Tonya) and four boys (Coty, Axel, Chase, and Emmitt) are active in their community and spend many hours on their children’s activities.
