Janette Espino is a General Manager in Customer Energy Solutions at Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) Company of New York, Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., one of the nation’s largest investor owned utilities. Founded in 1823 as the New York Gas Light company, our electric, gas, and steam service now provides energy for the 10 million people that live in New York City and Westchester County.
Janette is responsible for the implementation of the new customer service system for Consolidated Edison and Orange and Rockland Utilities. This system will service over three and a half million customers. This multi-year project involves a team of over two hundred business and Information Technology (IT) professionals from the Utilities and an international solutions integrator.
Janette has been in the utility business for over 30 years starting as an IT professional. She has a broad range of experience. She started as a management intern developing business systems for Supply Chain and Customer Operations. Janette took on leadership roles in IT ensuring that the Company’s technology investments delivered business value. She then moved into senior management positions in Supply Chain and Customer Operations where she applied the knowledge she gained developing those solutions. Janette approaches challenges strategically with a can-do attitude and employs a creative and analytical mind set to problem solving.
Janette enjoys mentoring, volunteering at her local church and building homes for veterans through the corporate Habitat for Humanity program. She is a native New Yorker who appreciates all the diversity and culture that it offers. Janette has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Manhattan College and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Pace University.
