Corporate Vice President, Cloud and Enterprise Division, Microsoft

Microsoft Responsibilities/Contributions – As corporate vice president of Commerce & Ecosystems, Charlotte Yarkoni is responsible for driving accelerated cloud adoption and customer success for developers, enterprises, ISVs, partners, startups and students. This includes fostering a vibrant online community leveraging assets such as developer.microsoft.com, docs.microsoft.com, CH9 (Channel 9), and Microsoft Scale-Ups (Formerly Accelerators) around the world along with sponsoring Microsoft’s flagship events such as Imagine Cup. Charlotte is also responsible for creating a differentiated commercial experience for our cloud customers and partners across our Azure platform.

Pre-Microsoft Work Experience – Prior to this role, Charlotte spent the last 3 years at Telstra where she served as President-Telstra Software Group, a strategic growth division focused on new global software businesses and capabilities in markets experiencing digital disruption adjacent to Telstra’s core telecommunications industry. As part of her role, Charlotte led the acquisitions of Ooyala, Videoplaza and Nativ; now part of the Ooyala brand. Charlotte is also the co-founder of muru-D, which is an accelerator program operating in Australia and Singapore, with global partners in Silicon Valley, China, Israel, and New Zealand. In addition to the Ooyala and muru-D portfolios, Charlotte was also responsible for leading the strategy and development of specific software competencies across Telstra, which are part of the T.DEV brand.

Prior to Telstra, Charlotte previously held Senior Vice President positions at EMC and VMware, leading developers of IT infrastructure technology and solutions, including the launch of CloudFoundry, the industry’s first open source Platform as a Service as well as managed emerging cloud-based businesses such as Mozy, which provides cloud storage solutions for consumers and small businesses. She has an extensive background in cloud-based applications and has held C-level roles for both public and privately held technology firms including CEO of a high-tech start-up. Charlotte has also worked for AT&T, IBM, and Accenture.

Education – Yarkoni earned her bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Affiliations – She has previously served as Vice Chairman at Ooyala and Board Director of the Seattle Humane Society. She has been recognized by multiple organizations, including being awarded a Digital Visionary in September 2015.

Family/Other Interests – Yarkoni will be residing in Kirkland with her husband and two daughters, three horses, and one dog.
