Shipping & Logistics firms must outsource to transform

Shipping and logistics companies are embracing business process outsourcing according to Infosys' expert in Parcel magazine. Sarang Gaikwad, Senior Business Consultant, Infosys BPO, believes that the key driver of outsourcing is asset flexibility in terms of human and capital assets.

In his analysis of outsourcing trends in shipping and logistics, he discusses how companies are outsourcing knowledge-oriented processes which require deep business process knowledge. Even complex data analytics processes related to yield management, global accounting and budgetary control-processes are being outsourced.
